Our Mission: Strengthen Communities Through Education and Economic Empowerment.
The HCBI is a nonprofit business incubator which helps entrepreneurs commercialize businesses that will impact the economy, and empower the community. We are a faith based organization that provide an umbrella of services to the community. We want to strengthen ties between the small business community, and local government.
Downsizing of manufacturing plants and their relocating overseas in the early 90’s was a crippling but sober reminder of the importance of business diversity to the overall economy. Thousands of lost jobs underlined the need for change. We began developing a strategy designed to foster small business growth and development during this challenging time.
We value the importance of collaboration and we know that education is the key. We want to disseminate information to the community that will allow them to make sound business decisions. The services we provide through the various entities include: The Minority Business Development Group, which nurtures small businesses through our business incubator; Community Outreach Programs, including the Straight Street Program for the young entrepreneur, and the Wisdom Center for Seniors; HUD'B which allows individuals to realize the American Dream through financial restructuring; and an Outreach Women’s Ministry, that encourages women to become the best.
Through our circle of care, we strengthen our communities, provide encouragement, support and facilitate economic empowerment, to the small businesses and individuals in our community.
Promoting the growth of community based businesses is paramount to the strength of Troup County and surrounding area's economy. Business incubator initiatives are supported by an extensive committee of volunteer business people, community leaders, and educators who recognize the value of strong community based businesses.
What We Do: We identify small businesses with high potential for success in the marketplace, match resources of the community with the passion of entrepreneurs, and then mentor, coach, and relentlessly push the entrepreneurs toward success.
Our Targeted Clients: Small business based on unique and/or proprietary ideas and technology, with a high potential for success in the marketplace, and with an entrepreneur who has the potential to take their company through incubation and acceleration.
